Paint the City!

Aikya has a history of starting novel events at RNSIT. In its year of its inception, it created a flurry of excitement across the campus by hosting the first ever Street Dance event at RNSIT. It got a tremendous response from everyone who participated and witnessed it.

                        Keeping up the tradition, we are holding a Paintball event this time at Aikya'13! With 5 people per team in the event and 30 shots provided to each person, there are gonna be a lot of colours out there for sure on the 19th. It is an informal event, with the most reasonable price tag, and meant for you all to loosen yourself up. So make the best use of it and celebrate a late Holi! Take time off your busy schedules of classes and labs and get your lazy selves up! Participate in numbers, have lots of fun and enjoy to the core.

                        Choose your colours. It is time for RNS to paint the town. Do it in style!

For the love of dance

Dancing, for a dancer, is like breathing. There is no beginning, nor there is an end. You become a part of the all swaying motion of the world and its undoubtedly one of the best forms of expression.

                Thinking about last year's Aikya,i think, undisputedly, the most successful event was Street Dancing. Nexus,Graffiti, Dark Illusion and many other dance crews participated in the first-of-a-kind event at RNSIT. The interest that it generated among the crowd was phenomenal.  The frenzy in the crowd increased with the increase in the level of dancing of the participating teams. With every killing step, the crowd sizzled. After the terrific dance battle, Graffiti emerged victorious.

                Keeping up with everyone's expectations,  Street Dancing will be held in this edition of Aikya as well. With more number of participants and more resources, we plan to enthral the audience all the more this time around. With the event to be scheduled in evening under proper lighting effects, we hope to do due justice to the performances. So, make it a point to be here, at RNSIT, on the 19th of April to stand witness to some of the most terrific street dance performances.

India's obsession, and ours too!

Think of that one word that is synonymous with India?

The first thing that comes to your mind?

The national obsession, maybe?

Yes, cricket. The one reason that can unite a whole country. That can set a whole nation of laidback people get up and shout at the top of their voices. Cricket is India.

And we, at Aikya Club, are no different. The Aikya Cricket Cup has become a mainstay of Aikya and has been one of the most important events of Aikya. And unlike other cricket tournament, an Aikya department team features 5 students, and  6 staff members! Yes ,you read it right. And you should see the 8-over matches.  Oh boy! Such fun it is and the healthy relationship that it fosters between the students and the teachers is in itself worth the event.

And this time around, we have something more for you all. Before that,let me just tell you something.
Everyday, when i enter the CS lab, there is this discussion on.

Shreyas-RCB CSK aaj. What say Shivam?

Shivam - Gayle and Kohli, dono form mein hai. But CSK has Dhoni. Remember last match?

Shreyas- DeVilliars bhi hai!

And it carries on,without fail,everyday!

And out of these discussions only, the idea was born to hold an event that would just gauge the hitting abilities of the participants.
And henceforth, Super Sixes was conceptualized and is to be held this time at Aikya'13.

So, be ready to be entertained all the more with cricket and smashing hits this time around at Aikya, because we bring it desi!

Beginnings are the best!

Life just changed colour because something is round the corner. The best thing in your college life just got better, and is back again.

Along with the excitement and the adrenaline ,the rants are back, with humour abound and love along. The preparations are back, with deadlines and the rush it comes with. And all this is back, because a dream is shaping up, again.

The word, my friends, is out. AIKYA is back!
On the 19th of this month, the CSE department will host one of the biggest departmental fest of RNSIT, and do it in style.

The furore it created on its inception inspires us to thrill you people with a bigger and better display of Aikya. Drawing a participation of over 2500 students, Aikya made more than just a mark. Into its second year, we wish to raise the bar a lot lot higher and leave a worthy legacy for years ahead.
